As much of the world still faces travel restrictions, and some places even endure new lockdowns, we could all use a little escapism.

«Y Tu Mamá También» (2001) — Oaxaca, Mexico

20 movies that made everyone have wanderlust
Every day, people consume a multitude of media that makes them want to pack a bag and leave their 9-5 behind, and a lot of that has to do with the drop-dead gorgeous scenes in movies. So it’s time to grab those passports because from the beaches of Singapore to the streets of Paris, these are the movies that made everyone have wanderlust.
‘Jurský park’
V realitě, Jurský park was filmed in Hawaii, but the movie was trying to convey an island off the coast of Costa Rica. Nevertheless, if one could have a trip dedicated to spending their time surrounded by lush green landscapes void of genetically modified dinosaurs, they’d truly be in vacay heaven.
‘Skleněná cibule: Záhada nožů’
Some movies offer realistic ideas for vacations, and then others like Skleněná cibule: Záhada nožů are sort of just wishful thinking because how many people have billionaire friends that can fly them out for an exclusive Greek trip? While that may not be attainable, a regular ol’ trip to Greece never hurt anybody. Well, except for Edward Norton’s character in the movie, but that’s beside the point.
‘Luca’
Walt Disney Pictures
Spending time on the Italian coast should be required for every citizen on Earth. Who does one talk to about getting that set into some sort of universal law?
«Dívčí výlet»
There are plenty of places in the United States that offer up the best of times, and Dívčí výlet showcased why New Orleans is one of them. Bourbon Street is always a party, but New Orleans also offers much more, like walking tours that center around the city’s rich history and voodoo!
‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’
Walt Disney Pictures
Paris may have evolved since the days of Hrbáč Notre Dame, but the rich history and architecture remain the same, and for that reason alone, Paris should be on everyone’s bucket list.
‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’
New Line Cinema
It’s impossible to watch Pán prstenů: Společenstvo Prstenu and not want to immediately book a trip to New Zealand.
‘3 Ninjas Kick Back’
Projekt 3 Ninjas kopl zpět was a staple to many ‘90s kids, and while it’s not the type of movie that’d win prestigious awards, it is a movie that made plenty of people want to hop on a plane to Japan.
‘Midsommar’
No one wants to have a trip like the one in Midsommar, but there are plenty of people that would not mind spending time in the picturesque Swedish setting.
‘Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar’
When people think of spending any amount of time in Florida, it’s all about Orlando and the bevy of theme parks, but now there’s a new destination thanks to the wacky ways of Barb and Star Přejít na Vista Del Mar.
‘Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey’
Walt Disney Pictures
No one wants to necessarily be lost in the woods like the pets in Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, but what that movie does is give plenty of ideas for camping trips in the American wilderness. Just make sure to pack a map and a compass.
‘Changeland’
Thailand gets plenty of tourists every year, and movies like Krajina změn only inspire more to check it out.
«The Grand Budapest Hotel»
Obrázky Fox Searchlight
While the place in the movie was fictional, Eastern European countries are all too real. Wes Anderson could convince even the biggest homebodies out there to book a room in one of the many cities that make it up after seeing Grand Hotel Budapest.
‘Mamma Mia!’
Universal Studios
While finding love is not guaranteed when on a Greek island, you can count on one-of-a-kind views.
‘FernGully: The Last Rainforest’
20th Century Fox
There is not a millennial alive today that didn’t become obsessed with going to South America after watching FernGully: Poslední deštný prales.
‘50 First Dates’
Plenty of movies are filmed and based in Hawaii, but it’s really the charming love story in 50 First Dates that made it that much more attractive.
„Film Lizzie McGuire“
Walt Disney Pictures
Rome has always been a top travel destination, but Lizzie McGuire and Co. made it look that much cooler. The only thing that probably won’t happen for those who travel there now? Singing on stage with their celebrity doppelganger.
«Šílené bohaté Asiaty»
Obrázky Warner Bros.
It is hard to watch Crazy Rich Asians and not want to pack a bag for Singapore. Everything from the street food to the cityscapes to the beaches, it was all so glorious.
‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’
Twentieth Century Fox
Kevin McCallister lived the ultimate travel fantasy in that he got to ball out in New York City in the best way imaginable. Yeah, there were two convicts after him, but The Plaza Hotel and the giant sundae more than made up for it, right?
‘The Rescuers Down Under’
Walt Disney Pictures
The Australian outback has never looked as inviting as in Záchranáři u protinožců.
‘George of the Jungle’
Walt Disney Pictures
In a perfect world, everyone would be able to explore the wonders of Africa like George in George z džungle.
