I watched a movie when I was about 7 or 8 with my grandma, maybe younger. It may have been 1990 when I saw it, but I have the idea it’s from the ’70s or ’80s. I believe it aired on TV and it was a sci-fi movie about some scientists or maybe a reporter who were investigating a UFO that had been found. The UFO had the bodies of aliens in the craft, frozen in the walls. They were very small and I think that it was a man and a woman who were excavating them out of the walls, or they were watching others try to dig them out. I remember very little about it other than that, but it’s bothered me for probably 30 years now. It was in color and I definitely think it aired on television.

This is remeniscent of Quatermass and the Pit, released in 1967. An alien spacecraft is discoverered during excavations in London. Alien bodies are found in a chamber in the craft. Also the investigators are subjected to psychic influences in the course of their work.

@KlausÆ.Mogensen, Quatermass and the Pit is in colour. Only the first two Quatermass films were B&W.

There are two film versions of QatP — a B&W from 1958 and a colour one from 1967.

I have found a few stories here myself that didn’t even disappoint me after many years (Thus we fooled Charlemagne is still a treasure. ).

Might this be Vlnová délka (1983).

Two young lovers learn that a small group of child-like space aliens are marooned on Earth and are being held prisoner at a top secret military facility. The couple then decide to liberate the extraterrestrial castaways and help them make a rendezvous with a rescue ship sent from the alien home planet.

Low budget «E-T» like movie even though it was written years before the film «E-T» was even in production the movie «Wavelength» has to do with a trio of captured aliens who’s space craft was blown out of the sky over the Mojave Desert by a super secret US military laser device. The three alien spacemen, named by the scientists and military who are examining of them, Gamma Beta & Delta, Dov Young Josh Oreck & Christian Morris, are put on ice in a secret military installation, that been out of operation since the end of WWII,in the Hollywood Hills.

It’s when the ultra sensitive to both whale dolphin and alien brainwaves Iris Longacer, Cherie Corrie, picks up the alien spacemen, who look like pre-teenage boys, cries for help that she gets her boyfriend down in the dumps rock guitarist Bobby Sinclair, Robert Carradine, to help her find them. It takes a while but with the help of desert prospector and former military construction contractor Dan, Keean Wynn, the aliens are tracked down to the long abandoned military installation that the US military is keeping them locked up, in cold storage, in.

• The aliens aren’t shown to be frozen in the walls of the spacecraft, but are put into stasis after being discovered by the government and taken to a secret facility.

On Wednesday, Sony Pictures Entertainment released the trailer for Driver’s new film, 65, which features the 39-year-old actor as a futuristic space-faring pilot named Mills, whose spaceship suffers a «catastrophic crash on an unknown planet» that turns out to be Earth 65 million years ago, according to an official synopsis for the movie.

Mills’ crash-landing leaves only two survivors from his ship of 35 passengers: himself and a young girl named Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), whom he assumes protection over.

The two-minute, 37 seconds-long trailer teases Mills’ realization that the unfamiliar, wild planet he’s crash-landed on after a collision with an unknown asteroid system is the same as his own Earth, as the trailer suggests Mills was part of a search for a new planet for humanity to inhabit.

The first look at Driver’s new movie also teases at his battles with prehistoric predators who see the futuristic humans as prey, while Mills is armed only with the weapons and equipment at his disposal from the ship.

To make a rescue possible, Mills and Koa maneuver «across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive,» according to a synopsis for the film.

In addition to Driver and Greenblatt, 65 also stars Chloe Coleman, who also appears in the new movie Avatar: Cesta vody in December. Greenblatt previously appeared as the younger version of Zoe Saldaña’s Marvel Cinematic Universe character Gamora in 2018’s Mstitelé: nekonečná válka, V závislosti na Různorodost.

What sci-fi movies/TV series involve ships landing or crashing on a desert planet?

Hi, I’m trying to track down a sci-fi movie that I watched as a kid.

Well, it could have been an episode in a TV series, I’m not really sure.

All I can remember is a group of people stepping out of a space ship on a desert planet. The desert had a bit of a red/orange tinge to it.

The area was wide and open without anything but red/orange sand for miles.

I think the ship may have crash landed. And I remember another seen before with people rifling through a store room on the ship — that’s about it.

In terms of time period, it could have been released anywhere from 1985-2005. But I’d guess it was likely the 90s.

Does anyone have any idea what film or TV show this could be?

Based on comments so far, I’ve added a list of notes below.

• tam byly alespoň 5 crew members. Likely more.
• the ship was quite large compared to the size of the crew.
• it’s set far in the distant future. Not involving our perceptions of what astronauts would look like now or in the near future.
• when they open the door of the ship, there’s nothing but sand dunes.
• the crew weren’t wearing full body space suits. Could of had some sort of breathing apparatus but it wasn’t too obvious.
• the surrounding area wasn’t mountainous. More like large sand dunes but not the typical color.
• I’ve watched a lot of SG1, Star Trek, Firefly, Dr Who so it won’t be any of those.
